Parkland Children’s Academy Preschool & Other Programs

Our school offers the following classes and services divided by age group.
- Specialized infant care
- Two-year-old class
- Three-year-old class
- Four-year-old prekindergarten class (PK4)
- After-school care
- Summer, winter, and spring break camps
Specialized Infant Care Program
Our specialized infant care program serves infants ages 6 weeks to 24 months. It stimulates babies’ natural curiosity, encourages socialization, and promotes healthy physical and mental development through games, songs, and exercises.
Two-Year-Old Class
Our two-year-old class fosters greater independence in activities such as feeding themselves, playing, and packing up after activities. Students work on potty training, basic hygiene skills, and basic safety practices, including wearing hats and sunblock outdoors to protect themselves from the sun, and holding hands and staying with their group in public. Students also learn about manners and respect for others. Each student in this class is assessed according to the Florida Birth to Three-Year-Old Standards to ensure age-appropriate developmental milestones are met.
Three-Year-Old Class
Our three-year-old class further increases students’ independence through activities that equip them with the skills and confidence to act independently. Other key developmental milestones for this age group include staying on task and completing activities such as crafts, games, and puzzles. Students’ social skills set is expanded to include compassion, empathy, and more manners.
This age group is naturally highly physically active, so we develop gross motor coordination skills through outdoor activities such as balancing, climbing, and walking backward. To hone their fine motor coordination, students build towers with blocks, color in the lines, cut with safety scissors, and tear paper.
Prekindergarten For Four-Year-Olds (VPK)
Our prekindergarten for four-year-olds (VPK) program prepares students for kindergarten. We offer full-time and part-time schedules during Fall, Winter, and Spring. This class focuses on students communicating their needs effectively, playing and sharing cooperatively with others, recognizing letters and numbers, resolving conflict appropriately, practicing proper manners and personal hygiene habits, and using the restroom independently.
After-School Care Program
Our after-school care program includes opportunities for students to eat snacks, get help with homework assignments, play with their friends, and take time to rest. We offer pickup from local schools to provide parents with convenience and peace of mind.
Summer, Winter, & Spring School Break Day Camps
Our daytime-only Summer, Winter, and Spring camps for five- to 10-year-olds keep kids busy and happy during their school breaks. Each week at camp has a different theme, and there are crafts, games, and field trips.

Curriculum-Based Preschool Program

Our teachers use a creative curriculum with weekly themes that incorporate hands-on learning. Our preschool students learn through technology-enhanced activities in colors, math, numbers, and phonological awareness. Our classrooms are equipped with wide interactive smart boards. We measure progress and performance through ongoing assessments, parent-teacher conferences, and student portfolios.
Encouraging A Healthy Lifestyle
Our in-house nutritionist curates our cafeteria menu to ensure our students have a healthy, well-balanced diet, including a daily hot lunch that is served “family-style,” in order to allow children to practice good manners, proper eating habits, and social skills. We are happy to accommodate students’ food allergies and dietary needs, and students are welcome to bring lunches from home if they prefer.
Enhanced Security
The security of our students, faculty, and staff is a top priority at Parkland Children’s Academy. Doors are equipped with security code access and fingerprint access. Exit doors are locked at all times. We require guests to present photo identification to enter the school. We have a fully-integrated intercom system that can be used in an emergency. We have an emergency preparedness plan that instructs students on what to do in the event of a security breach. All of our staff members are trained and certified in CPR and first aid.

Family-Oriented, Family-Owned, & Family-Operated School

Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Program Provider
The part-time Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) program is free for all Florida four-year-olds born on or before September 1st. This program provides an age-appropriate curriculum that emphasizes early literacy. Classes are taught by qualified instructors, and class sizes are manageable. Parkland Children’s Academy also offers a full-time wraparound VPK program.
Partnership With The YMCA
In addition to serving healthy meals to our students, have also partnered with the Parkland YMCA to reduce childhood obesity through a diverse selection of programs that keep kids active. We offer basketball, cheerleading, exercise and fitness routines, soccer, and tumbling.
Safe Bus Transportation
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) strongly discourages the use of 15-passenger vans for transporting children due to safety concerns and the lack of regulatory oversight. Parkland Children’s Academy uses only multifunctional school buses that comply with NHTSA school bus regulations to transport students.
Safe & Toxin-Free Playground
We have a JontiCraft brand play structure on our playground. This brand makes the strongest and safest playground equipment available. Additionally, the play structure is set on a 2.5-inch-thick, toxin-free, antibacterial rubber surface that reduces the risk of injuries, will not make a mess or get in children’s eyes like sand, and will not cause cuts and scrapes like woodchips.
Summer Camp Classes
As with our classes during the school year, we keep class sizes small in our Summer, Winter, and Spring camps to provide individualized support. Our Spring Break and Winter Break camps include three field trips per week.
