Rules & Policies

Please familiarize yourself with the discipline and visitor policy below.

Disciplinary Policy

Parkland Children's Academy adheres to the Broward County Public Schools Code of Student Conduct and utilizes the Broward County Public Schools Discipline Matrix to assign consequences for behavior. These documents are available on the school website and can also be accessed at browardschools.com
In addition, each classroom teacher establishes appropriate discipline procedures in his/her classroom based on these guidelines. The following list is not all-inclusive.

Students will be expected to show their FUNdamental pride by:
  1. Showing respect to teachers, staff members, and the student's peers by refraining from such actions which would cause harm to others. Bullying, whether cyber, verbal, or physical, will be addressed according to Broward County Public Schools' Discipline Matrix.
  2. Taking pride in helping maintain the school and its surrounding grounds by not littering, defacing, or vandalizing school property.

  3. Showing respect for their personal property and the personal property of others. Student will NOT bring to school items that are prohibited by the Discipline Matrix and could cause a disruption to the school.
  4. Conducting themselves in an appropriate way that supports the Broward County Students Code of Conduct, as well as FUNdamentals' expectations for student behavior.

Visitor Policy

Visitors, including parents, are NOT permitted to go to their child's classroom unannounced during school hours as this disrupts the normal routine and instruction. For the safety and protection of all students, visitors (including parents) must sign in and out at the front desk, state who they are visiting, the purpose of the visit, and obtain a visitor's pass before proceeding to a classroom. Per the Jessica Lunsford Act, all visitors must have photo identification and will be scanned using the link to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) database. Your cooperation will enable the school to provide a safe and orderly learning environment for all students.
If you wish to meet with a teacher, please schedule a conference.
